Shift Checklist

Communicate absences and lateness

When you're running late, please text the student chat and/or email circstu so everyone is aware.

For illnesses, please email circstu asap to inform folks you will be absent. Your supervisor will take care of finding a sub in the event of illness or an emergency.

Please let folks know as soon as possible when you need to miss a shift. Advance notice of two weeks or more is best. People are buzy.

When you need to miss a shift for a planned absence, do this:

  1. Enter date and time into the absences Google sheet.
  2. Email circstu to inform staff of your absence and request a sub, especially for shifts you staff alone. Message the Student Chat to request a sub more directly. Text your work buddies. *If your shift mate is okay working alone, let folks know you do not need a sub.*
  3. Continue to follow up and check-in with your supervisor until you get a confirmed sub. If you cannot get a sub, check-in with your supervisor up to 3 days before your scheduled shift so arrangements can be made.
  4. Failure to confirm a sub will result in a follow-up meeting with your supervisor.

Your willingness to sub for others is imperative and much appreciated. Thank you in advance for helping out your coworkers!
